In one way or another Steve has been involved in photography all of his life. From a very early age Steve carried a camera, trying to capture all the wonderful colours and atmosphere of the countryside whilst also learning the fundamentals of camera handling and picture taking as he went along.
As an adult Steve gained deeper knowledge of both the subjects he was photographing and also a better understanding of his camera equipment. This then led on to him managing photographic retail establishments, professional photographic studios, processing labs and an art gallery and framers. Over the years Steve has spent many hours watching and photographing the British countryside and his focus is now on capturing images of dogs at work and at play, and of life in the countryside.
As a multi award winning, well respected and professional photographer, based in Northamptonshire, he also enjoys teaching and advising others with their photography and offers a variety of workshops, as well as entertaining and informative audio visual talks. Steve’s extensive experience has resulted in him having many of his images published in books and magazines both in the UK and internationally and to him also becoming an Associate to the Royal Photographic Society. He is currently working towards his Fellowship also with the Royal Photographic Society, the highest qualification within the RPS.
In 2012 Steve was delighted to achieve a Highly Commended in the British Wildlife Photography Awards and in 2014 was named Leica Fieldsports Photographer of the Year. 2015 saw Steve winning the Game Shooting Category again in the Leica Competition and in 2016 and again in 2017 he was Highly Commended for another 2 of his images in the same competition.
