Working Dogs in Action Photography | Birds of Prey & Owls
There are a number of well run informative and practical Birds of Prey workshops on offer, using a selection of Eagles, Falcons, Hawks and Owls concentrating on UK and European species. A wide variety of locations and habitats will be used, covering all the seasons of the year. Habitats included are rocky out crops with  heather and bilberry cover great for a Golden Eagle and Peregrine Falcon; church yard, parkland, farmland and buildings ideal for Barn Owl, Little Owl and Kestrel, ancient woodland which lends itself to Tawny Owls and Buzzards,  countryside ideal for hunting Goshawks, as well as a site in Mid Wales giving lots of opportunties. Each site and season offers its own unique features.

Workshops usually run from 10am until 4.30pm with a break for lunch. Participants will be limited, and each workshop will be tailored to them and run in a relaxed and informative way with as much time as possible spent out on location with the birds. Tuition and guidance will be given to each individual member if needed as the day progresses. Trained, skilled and very knowledgeable handlers will be on hand to control the birds and answer any questions you may have regarding them.

LOCATION - The workshops are held in a number of locations including; a private small nature reserve offering grassland, hedgerows, mixed wood and a small pond in Bedfordshire, an ancient bluebell wood in Northamptonshire and a setting in Mid Wales which all gives a variety of great natural sets and situations in which we can place the birds

NUMBER OF COURSE MEMBERS - The courses are to be kept to a size where all participants will have the opportunity to learn, i.e. a maximum of ten and a minimum of four. (Workshops will only run if we have four or more members)

Group bookings are available. If you are a camera club, college or just a group of photographers wishing to have a great day’s photography in an environment which lends itself to enjoyment and good images then Steve will tailor the day to you. The date and the birds used on the workshop will be your choice (subject to the bird’s availability). A special rate is set for this.

All photographic standards are welcome and you can be assured of individual tuition. Please contact Steve for more details.

SKILL LEVELS - The workshops are designed to provide for all skill levels and knowledge, for the beginner Steve will be on hand to guide you through equipment, exposure, and composition. For those that have a good understanding of and a working knowledge of the subject they will gain some good opportunities to take some great natural images in a controlled environment. All participants will experience wildlife photography in a relaxed and informative way.

CAMERA EQUIPMENT – Steve will help you to get the most out of the equipment you have. As a guide, a digital camera with interchangeable lenses would be best along with any lenses you have ranging from a wide angle through to 300mm or larger telephoto. A tripod and flash gun would also be useful.
